Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems

  • May-1997: Serrano water treatment plant — Serrano Water District, Orange, CA: Successful provides PLC ladder logic programming and startup services using Toshiba T2 PLC.
  • September-1999: Industrial Waste Treatment Plant, North Island, Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA – Program GE90-30 PLC to control and Wonderware HMI to monitor the wastewater treatment process and tank levels.
  • May-1999: Camp Pendleton Waste Water Treatment Plant #9, Marine Corps Base, San Diego, CA — Design and program the complete turnkey control systems using Honeywell 620-16 PLC and WonderWare Intouch HMI operator interface.
  • October-1999: San Elijo Water Reclamation Facilities, San Diego, CA — Program Allen-Bradley SLC 5/04 PLC and PanelView to control and monitor all filter feed bumps and reclaimed water pumps. Communicate with Oak Crest Park and Loma Santa Fe Park Monitoring stations using lease-line modem.
  • May-1998: MCAGCC Waste Water Treatment Plant, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA – Program and start-up control system to control all inlet and outlet pumps and monitor all turbidity sensors and water levels using SLC 5/05 PLC and Lookout HMI SCADA program.
  • December-2005: Wild Animal Park WWTP, San Diego – Provide control system to control CL2 pumps to dosing Chlorine to the CL2 contact tank.
  • October-2008: CH2M HILLS CONSTRUCTORS INC., National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA: Design, fabricate and program water and waste water SCADA system which includes 23 Compact Logix control panel with MDI radio modems, one 19 inch RSView32 SCADA server racks and two desktop operator interface computers.
  • May-2009: MCAGCC Portable Water System, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA – Replace all water wells Allen Bradley SLC 5/03s with SLC 5/05s. Upgraded network from DH485 to Fiber Optic Ethernet Network.
  • September-2010: MCAGCC Portable Water System, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA – Provide Compact Logix PLC control panels for four main side water tanks. Upgrade Lookout HMI for new graphic screens.
  • Jun-2010: Niland Sanitary District – Water Treatment Facility Improvement – Provide PLC control panel and field instrumentation to control the water treatment plant process.
  • Feb-2011: Rancho Del Campo WWTP Upgrade, Design and Programming complete control panel with Panel View HMI to control the existing WWTP.
  • Jan-2011: Pump Station Switchgear & VFD Replacement – City of Coronado, San Diego, Upgrade the existing PLC control panel. Provide the new PLC and HMI. Programming and startup services.
  • April-2011: San Elijo Reclamation Facility Electrical Upgrade– San Elijo Water Authority, Provide the new Compact Logix PLC and Wonderware Intouch HMI. Programming and startup services.
  • March-2011: Recycled Water Pump Station 944 Upgrade – Otay Water District, San Diego, Upgrade the existing PLC control panel. Provide the new GE-PLC and field instrumentation. Programming and startup services
  • August-2011: Temecula Valley RWRF 18-MGD WWTP Upgrade, Provided all field instrumentations such as magnetic flow meters, level sensor and transmitters, rotameters, pressure sensor and transmitters, temperature sensors. Provided loop drawings, field testing, calibration, and helped PLC programmer during startup and commissioning process. The instrument costs were about $200K.
  • July-2012: Edwards Air Force Base WWTP, Researched, studied, and provided reports to upgrade the WWTP.
  • Oct-2015: Richard A Reynolds Desalination WTP, Provided 21 electrical control panels and many field instrumentation for the project expansion phase II.
  • Dec-2015: Greystone Reservoir Rehabilitation, City of Beverly Hills, Provided two chemical sampling control panels with Modicon PLC to collect water and monitor potable water CL2, Turbidities and PH values.
  • Jan-2016: Soboba Indian Reservation Potable Water System, Provided new computer with Aveva System Platform software and 5 new control panels with SCADAPack controllers.
  • July-2019: Soboba Indian Reservation WTP SCADA Upgrade, Provided new control panels with SCADAPack controller and upgrade the Aveva SCADA computer.
  • January-2018: Edwards Air Force Base WWTP, Provided new SCADA computer system using Aveva System Platform and 9 new control panels with Allerton Controllers to control the wastewater treatment plan.

 

Pump Stations

  • June-2003: Graving Dock Main Water Pump Station and Fire Pump Station-Naval Station, San Diego, CA – Design and build SCADA and control system to control the flooding, dewatering and fire water supply operation for the graving dock using Control Logix 5000 PLC and RSView32 HMI
  • July-1998: Potable Water Transmission System – Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA – Program 12 SLC 5/03 PLC control panel to control water well pumps and monitoring all pump data using LookOut HMI program. Communication between all PLCS using fiber optic DH-485 network.
  • November-2002: Santa Margarita Pump Station, Camp Pendleton, Marine Corp Base, San Diego, CA- Design and program control panel to control monitor and control the operation of two electric pumps, five diesel engine power driven pumps, the fuel tank and the generator using Automation Direct Koyo DL445 PLC and Direct Touch operator interface. This is $10,000,000 flood control project.
  • September-2009: Top-of-The-World Water Reservoirs and Pump Station, Laguna Beach, CA – Repair and modify PLC program to control reservoir pump station operation and communicate to other reservoirs using Allen Bradley SLC 5/03 PLC and Metricom wireless RF telemetry network.
  • March-2009: Secondary Pump Station – Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA – Provide control panel and modified the PLC and SCADA HMI to control the secondary pump stations to deliver reclaimed water to the Ocotillo pond.
  • May-2004: Wild Animal Park, Escondido, CA – Reservoirs Control Panel Provide Electrical Engineering design, fabrication, installation and startup service. This control panel controlled the flow of water into two reservoirs and send level data to the remote monitoring location.
  • February-2010: High Valley Pump Station – City of Poway – Provide field instrumentation and PLC control panel to control the pump station.
  • January-2011: Coronado Transbay Pump Station, Replace Generator, Switchgear & VFD – City of Coronado– Provide new Compact Logix PLC panel and HMI. Program the pumps operation and provide maintenance support until now.
  • February-2011: Lemoore New Potable Water Well – Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA – Modify existing Modicon PLC system and Wonderware HMI to control the new water well.
  • April-2011: Camp Wilson Pump Station – 29Palms MCAGCC – Programming the PLC and SCADA system to collect data and monitoring the pumps operation.
  • May-2011: Home Plant Pump Station– City of Carlbad – Provide field instrumentation and PLC control panel, Bubbler control panel to control the pump station.
  • December-2012: Water & Sewer Group 930 Pump Station – City of San Diego– Provide field instrumentation, PLC control panel and pressure transmitter control panel to control the pump station.
  • December-2012: Water & Sewer Group 930 Pump Station – City of San Diego– Provide field instrumentation, PLC control panel and pressure transmitter control panel to control the pump station.
  • December-2012: Caltrans Storm Pump Station – City of San Diego– Provide field instrumentation, three control panels to control the pump station.
  • December-2012: The Ranch Pump Station – Santa Margarita Water District, CA – Provide field instrumentation and three pump control panels with PLC and radio transmitters to control the pump stations and communicate to the main SCADA system.
  • January-2013: Three Lift Stations – Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA – Provide field instrumentation and three pump control panels with level transmitters and radio transmitters to control the sewer lift stations and communicate to the main SCADA system.
  • April-2013: Black Mountain Ranch Sewer Pump Station– Provide field instrumentation, Gas Detection and Monitor System, and Compact Logix PLC control panel to control the pump station.
  • July-2013: Solana Beach Pump Station Electrical Rehap– Provide field instrumentation and PLC control panel to control the pump station.
  • August-2013: Water & Sewer Group 820 – City of San Diego– Provide field instrumentation and PLC control panel to control the pump station.
  • April-2018: La Jolla Reservoir Pump Station – City of San Diego– Provide field instrumentation and PLC control panel with Modicon M580 PLC and HMI to control the pump station and interfacing with city SCADA system.
  • Jun-2018: Domestic Water Supply – Jacumba Community Services District– Provide field instrumentation and PLC control panel with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC and HMI to control the pump station, reservoir level and interfacing with city alarm system.

 

Heating, Venting and Air Conditioning control (HVAC)

  • Rice University Central Plant Upgrade – Rice University, Houston, Texas – Design and program control panels to control 5 sections cooling tower, 6 chillers, heat exchangers using Automation Direct Koyo DL 445 PLC and Wonder Ware HMI operator interface.
  • Chemtronic Spray Booth Modifications– San Diego, CA Program and control heat exchangers and air fan to control the temperature, airflow and the operation of the spray booths using Allen-Bradley SLC 5/03 PLC.

 

Environmental:  Air Pollution Control, Soil Conditioner Control

  • West Electrostatic Precipitator, Quemetco Inc – Design and program electrical and control panels to control the air flow sequencing and temperatures of 30 million dollars electrostatic precipitator. The second one shall be installed in 2015 at New York city.
  • Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers, Smith Engineering Company – Design and program electrical and control panels to control the air flow sequencing and temperatures of many the thermal oxidizer for the large corporations. Some of them are listed below:

      • August, 1996: Puente Hills Landfill, Eastern Flare Station, County Sanitation District No. 2, Los Angeles County, CA– Design, program, start-up, and training the two-flares system to burn excessive gas from the landfill using redundant A-B PLC 5, WonderWare operator interface and dial-up modem.
      • Soil Treatment Machine: Terrafix Environmental, Ontario, CA– Design, program, start-up, and training the electrical distribution, the SCADA and PLC control system to control soil conditioning machine using A-B SLC 5/04 PLC and Lookout Direct SCADA software.
      • Ammonia Control Panels: SST Equipment Inc, for Los Gatos Tomato Company, and Stanislaus Food Company in Fresno, CA- Design, fabrication of control panel and also provide start-up, and training for customer.
      • Catalytic Oxidizer Control Panel: SST Equipment Inc. for Advanced Bionic Company, Santa Clara, CA – Design, fabrication of control panel to control the oxidizer and also provide installation, start-up, and training for customer.
      • Chevron Pacific Indonesia, – Startup and commissioning 4 direct fired EPCON oxidizers in the 5000 oil pumps production field in Sumantra Island, Indonesia. Modify PLC and Panel View program to increase the process flow from 80K SCFH to 150K SCFH.

 

Oil and Gas Equipment

  • Top Drive Drilling Systems, Varco BJ Drilling Systems, Varco International, Orange, CA – Design electrical distribution and design and program control panels to control the operation of many top drive drilling systems model TDS-9S and TDS-4S used on the offshore drilling rigs for the Oil and Gas Exploration Companies below:

Electrical Power Distribution Control

  • Utility Control Systems, Marine Corp Recruite Deport (MCRD), San Diego, CA – Provide a Window Server 2003 computer system running Itron Fixed Network application and Energy Cap application to monitor 400 wireless electrical, gas and water meters.
  • Utility Control Systems, Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA – Program SEL 2032 data concentrator to collect power data such as voltages, current, KW, KWH and circuit breaker status for Telvent SCADA system. Modify Telvent SCADA program to display transformers, switch gears and circuit breaker data.
  • Utility Control Systems, Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA – Design control panels to collect and monitor the currents, voltages, and KW-Hour of the power switching stations and motor control centers using HoneyWell 620-16/32 PLC and Motorola lease-line modem. List of projects: Substations “K” and “P”; Repair Unit Substation, Building 472; Old Town UCS system.
  • Potable Water Power Monitoring System, Marine Corp Base, 29 Palms, CA- Install A-B power monitors and using A-B RS-Power32 software to collect and diagnostic power condition of all well field power systems.

 

Fuel Delivery System

  • Aircraft Fuel Storage Modification, San Diego Air Port, San Diego, CA – Rewrite Siemens TI 560/565 PLC ladder logic program to control the pumps sequence and gas pressure. Repair Y2K problem of the PLCs.

 

Chemical Process Monitoring and Control

  • Chemical Tank Temperature Control and Monitoring, GNK Aerospace, Chem-Tronic, El Cajon, San Diego, CA – Design and program control panel and SCACA system to control the temperatures of chemical milling process using A-B PLC SLC 5/04 and RSView 32 HMI program.

 

Aircraft Manufacturing

  • Automatic Locator Arm, Boeing Company, Long Beach, CA – Design and program control system to control 60 hydraulic actuators to holding cargo floor and bulkheads.
  • Wing Drape Control Systems, Boeing Company, Long Beach, CA – Design and program control panel to controlled the draping process of the wing panels using DC servo motor and controller, Opto-22 Optomux controllers
  • Wing Alignment Control Systems, Boeing Company, Long Beach, CA – Modified, maintenance and support the control system to aligns and joins the wing halves together using Siemens/TI 560/565 PLC, servo controllers, laser instruments, and Intellution Factory Link HMI operator interface.

 

Alarm and Intrusion Detection

  • Water Well Intrusion Detection System, MCAGCC, Twenty-nine Palms, CA – Design, Install and program MDI intrusion detection system for 11 water wells in the desert.
  • Mission Planning Facility Mass Notification and Intrusion Detection System, NVAIR, Chine Lake CA – Design, Install and program Mass Notification and Intrusion Detection System for Mission Planning Facility using Bosch Security System.

 

Maintenance Contracts

  • Since 2016 to present, City of Coronado, San Diego, CA – Provide troubleshooting and repair services for 20 pump stations and interfacing with the SCADA monitoring system.
  • Since 2010 to present, GKN Aerospace Company, San Diego, CA – Provide SCADA and control system troubleshooting and repair services for the Chem-Mill process, Scrubber process, and the Sand Blaster System.
  • Since 2010 to present, City of Oceanside, San Diego, CA – Provide troubleshooting and repair services for burner system.
  • Since 2015 to present, Soboba Indian Reservation, San Jacinto, CA – Provide troubleshooting and repair services for 5 pump stations, 4 reservoirs and Aveva SCADA monitoring and control system.
